Background Ize
Background Ize is a very simple utility to convert an image into an easy-to-tile format, useful for creating backgrounds. Actually it just divides the image in four parts and it shifts them. Then saves the image (the old image is saved as .BAK). Then you can edit the image into your favorite graphic software.
Works with drag & drop and as a VisualVision plugin. Acts on JPG, GIF, BMP...
It is useful also for testing backgrounds.

You might notice the tiling imperfections: the image can be saved then you can correct them into a Paint program.
